Recipe: Candied Pecans

From the kitchen of former Tudor Place Communications Director Mandy Katz. If you enjoy them too much, don’t blame her!

Mix together:

1 lb. raw pecans
1 egg white
1 tbsp water

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Add to pecan mixture:

1 cup sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt

Spread in one layer on baking sheet(s) lined with parchment paper or silicone mats. Bake, turning once with spatula, 1.5 hours.

For extra crispness, leave nuts in turned-off oven an extra 30-60 minutes.
