The garden is currently closed and will reopen in 2021.

The historic house is currently closed. Tudor Place weather closure follow the local Federal government; the site may also close in hazardous conditions.  Check the website for the most current  information or call 202-965-0400.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

Tudor Place is located at 1644 31st Street, NW in Washington, DC.  The main entrance is on 31st Street, NW between Q & R Streets, NW in Georgetown. Street parking is available in the neighborhood without a Zone 2 sticker free for two hours Monday through Saturday. Numerous pay-to-park services are available in the neighborhood. There is no parking lot for visitors.

If you ride your bike to Tudor Place, park and lock it at one of the bike racks outside the front gate.

HOW CAN I TOUR THE HISTORIC HOUSE?

The historic house is currently closed for tours. Check the website for the most current  information or call 202-965-0400.

HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO SPEND AT TUDOR PLACE?

When open, a guided tour of the historic house lasts approximately 50 minutes and garden visits are self-guided.

IS PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED?

Personal photography is encouraged.  In the historic house, flash photography, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted.

DO YOU HAVE A CAFÉ?

There is no cafe on site. However, Tudor Place is nestled in the heart of Georgetown, a vibrant and bustling neighborhood.  Many cafes, restaurants and shops are a short walking distance to Wisconsin Avenue, NW (two blocks west) or M Street, NW (six blocks south).

IS THE SITE WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

The garden is accessible from the city sidewalk (without steps). Its surfaces consist of grassy areas and paths laid with pea gravel, flagstone, bricks, and stones set in grass.

The historic house is currently closed, but when it is open, the first floor of the historic house can be made accessible for wheelchairs and other needs.  Unfortunately there is no lift access to the mansion’s upper floors. However, a book of images of the upper floors is available.Please contact us at 202-965-0400 and let us make arrangements for you.

CAN I BRING FOOD ON SITE?

Outside food and drink is not allowed on site, although guests are invited to bring bottled water.  Please carry out whatever you bring in.

WILL VISITORS WITH CHILDREN BE ABLE TO VISIT?

History is for everyone.  All ages are welcome!

When the historic house is open for tours, it is best suited for ages 5 and older.  There is a historic artifact scavenger hunt for children to do during the tour.  There is a garden adventure map for kids (of all ages) as well – go along at your own pace and find hidden treasures in plain sight.

CAN I BRING MY STROLLER?

Strollers are permitted on the grounds in the garden. Note that the garden surfaces consist of grassy areas and paths laid with pea gravel, flagstone, bricks, and stones set in grass .

Strollers are not permitted on historic house tours; strollers can be folded and stored outside the Visitor Center entrance.

CAN GROUPS VISIT?

Due to concerns about COVID-19 and the health & safety of all visitors, limited options are available for site rentals for small, intimate gatherings & special occasions.  Click here for additional information or call 202-965-0400 or email events@tudorplace.org.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Service animals are permitted on site.  Pets are not permitted.
