Small Wedding Venue in Washington, DC

Tudor Place offers beautifully designed packages for all weddings, whether you’re looking for a destination station or an intimate gathering place with a  budget in mind. Tudor Place welcomes wedding parties of up to 70 guests. For each package, choose up to two of four locations, or opt for a full-site rental.

The Bowling Green – A Secluded Oasis

A romantic hideaway framed by tall boxwood, the Bowling Green is crowned by a ceiling of saucer magnolia trees. Your guests will feel as though they have stumbled into a secret garden.

The East Lawn – A Casual Space Framed by Historic Trees

Decorated with limestone pedestals and lined with seasonal plantings, fruit trees and saucer magnolias, the East Lawn provides elegance for your outdoor rental.

The South Lawn – A Timeless Backdrop

Exchange vows underneath the millennial Tulip Poplar tree as the grassy South Lawn expands around you or on the steps of the Temple Portico, a stunning architectural marvel. A model of Federal-period architecture, the historic house makes a stunning scene for any event.

The Dower House – Quintessential Victorian Charm

The 1867 Dower House features intimate entertainment rooms plus an adjoining side garden for cocktails and quiet conversations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tudor Place?

A model of Federal-period architecture in the nation’s capital, Tudor Place was home to six generations of Martha Washington’s descendants from 1805 to 1983 and the enslaved people and servants who lived and worked here.  With over 18,000 decorative objects, including the largest Washington Collection outside of Mount Vernon, Tudor Place sits on 5 1/2 acres in the heart of the historic Georgetown neighborhood.  It is now a museum and educational space that also allows private rentals.

Can I visit the site to learn more about renting this venue?

Site visits are encouraged and conducted by appointment only.  To book your visit and learn more about hosting your event at Tudor Place, email the Private Events Manager at events@tudorplace.org

What does my rental include?

Rentals include up to two locations on site, staff to facilitate your rental and a catering prep space.  Chairs and/or tables are available for most wedding ceremonies. Full-site rentals are availalbe.

Does Tudor Place provide catering?

No.

Does Tudor Place offer on-site parking?
