Join us for an evening program to learn about the evolution of lighting using Tudor Place and its collection. What was nighttime like between the 18th and 20th centuries? How did the cover of darkness lend itself to freedom seekers in Washington, DC? This program is one part object-based interpretation, one part mini-lecture about the Pearl incident (largest recorded nonviolent escape attempt by enslaved people in United States history) and one-part hands-on history through crafting. Following the program, participants will be able to enjoy cookies and hot cider.
Members: $15 | Non-Members: $25
