A dynamic week long learning experience for educators of grades K-12. Gain tools to help students grapple with histories whose legacies matter today. Connect with peers from all over the country to illuminate new perspectives and under-told stories, explore historic sites in Washington, DC and collect a wealth of resources. Presented by the Civil War Washington Consortium (Ford’s Theater, Tudor Place, Frederick Douglass National Historic Site and President Lincoln’s Cottage), who are committed to investigating the Civil War in all its complexity, and seek applicants with diverse experiences* who bring a variety of perspectives to the week of learning.

- Deposit: $100 refundable to secure your place in the institute. Deposits are refunded upon successful completion of the program.
- Successful completion of the program certifies 36 hours of professional development; Graduate credit is available through Trinity University Washington: three (3) credits for $375.
