Tudor Tots
Tudor Tots is Tudor Place’s bi-monthly enrichment program for children between the ages of 18 months and 4 years. Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for storytime, crafts and songs, celebrating a particular theme. To register for upcoming programs, click here for dates and times.
Tudor Place offers in-person and virtual field trips for all age levels during the school year. Each program explores the historic house or garden to help children better understand the past and the world around them. Students will have the chance to examine historical documents and artifacts, apply critical thinking skills and investigate the lives of the Peter family members and the enslaved people and domestic servants who lived and worked at Tudor Place.
Tudor Place offers unique programs for Daisy, Brownie, Junior and Cadettes girl scout troops, including an interactive tour and a craft workshop. Scouts can earn badges. Public events are held throughout the school year and troops are welcome to schedule their own private program. Scouts also earn a Tudor Place exclusive patch for girl scout uniforms.
For teachers visiting Tudor Place, complementary resource packets are available to use pre- and post-visit, covering different topics for different grade levels.
Not able to visit in person? Request a classroom set of one of our Journey Series workbooks. These booklets replicate a field trip experience through a series of reading and writing exercises. Currently available are In the Garden (preschool) and Historical Detectives (3rd-5th graders).
Adults
For lifelong learners, Tudor Place offers programs throughout the year on a variety of topics. The Landmark Lecture Series is a free adult lecture program typically scheduled 6x/year sourcing from local and national experts and scholars on various topics including DC history, American history, George Washington, art, decorative objects, the Peter family, etc. Tudor Nights is an opportunity to see rarely displayed objects and ephemera from the Tudor Place Collection & Archive after hours in the historic house. It is typically followed by cocktails and light hors d’oeuvres at the Dower House. Click here to check the calendar for dates, times.
