Tudor Place is dedicated to providing a pleasant experience for all who come to visit. We offer a number of services to assist people as they access the historic house and garden, both onsite and online.
On-Site
Touring the Historic House
Ramps are available to provide access to the first floor of the historic house. Please call ahead to arrange this service. For those who cannot climb stairs, a binder is available with pictures and information about the second floor. There is also a virtual tour available. For HOH/Deaf or non-verbal guests, white boards and dry erase markers are available for communicating. Printed versions of the historic house tour are available in English and several other languages. We have sound blocking headphones for use during educational programs.
Garden
The garden is accessible from the city sidewalk, without steps, via a cobblestone path. Garden surfaces consist of grassy areas and paths laid with pea gravel, flagstone, bricks and stones set in grass. There are stairs and uneven surfaces in the garden. Some areas are only accessed via steps.
Service Animals
Service dogs are welcome at Tudor Place. Emotional support animals are not allowed on-site. Pets are not allowed on-site.
Online
Virtual Tour

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday Noon – 4 p.m. Guided tours of historic house start on the hour. Last tour starts at 3 p.m. Tours last approximately 50 minutes.
WHAT ARE YOUR CURRENT HEALTH & SAFETY GUIDELINES?
HEALTH MONITORING. Stay home if you are not feeling well, experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or have had known exposure to the virus.
MASK OPTIONAL. Visitors and staff are welcome, but not required, to wear a mask in indoor or outdoor spaces.

WHERE CAN I PARK?
Tudor Place is located at 1644 31st Street, NW in Washington, DC. The main entrance is on 31st Street, NW between Q & R Streets, NW in Georgetown. Street parking is available in the neighborhood without a Zone 2 sticker free for two hours Monday through Saturday. Street parking on Sunday is free. For driving directions to Tudor Place, click here. If you ride your bike or scooter to Tudor Place, park and lock it at one of the bike racks outside the front gate.
CAN I TOUR THE HISTORIC HOUSE?
Yes! Guided tours of the historic house are offered on the hour. Ticket includes garden access following a guided tour of the historic house. Last tour starts at 3:00 p.m. Visitors for the 3:00 p.m. tour should plan to view the gardens before the tour. Suggested donation is $10/ticket. Advance registration is encouraged. Self-guided tours of the historic house are not available.

ARE THERE ANY BAG SIZE RESTRICTIONS? IS THERE A COAT RACK?
Tudor Place requests large bags be stowed in cubbies during the tour. Backpacks may be stowed in cubbies or worn on the front during the tour.
Visitors may hang coats on a shared coat rack inside the historic house.
IS THERE A MUSEUM SHOP?
Yes! Postcards, souvenirs, books and a curated selection of merchandise are available to visitors in the Visitor Center.
HOW LONG SHOULD I EXPECT TO SPEND AT TUDOR PLACE?
Guided tours of the historic house last approximately 50 minutes. Most visitors spend between 30 minutes to an hour in the garden.
IS PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED?
Yes! Personal photography is encouraged. Flash photography, tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted in the historic house.
Photography shoots require advanced notice and a permit. Email events@tudorplace.org to book a date and obtain a permit.
DOES TUDOR PLACE ALLOW WEDDINGS?
To preserve the historic landscape, we do not allow weddings on the property. However, Tudor Place is an excellent location for engagement or special moments photography. Photography & filming require a permit in advance. Contact education@tudorplace.org for information.
CAN I BRING FOOD ON-SITE?
Guests are encouraged to bring water. Picnics are welcome on the grounds and in the garden. Be sure to remove all trash. Trash receptacles are not provided. Bring mats, blankets or a camp chair. Due to the historic landscape, games, chairs with legs, blow up furniture, etc. are not permitted.
WHERE ARE RESTROOMS LOCATED ON-SITE?
Restrooms are available in the Visitor Center, at the west end of the historic house and at the garage courtyard. A mounted diaper changing station is available in the garage courtyard restroom and a portable changing table is available upon request at the Visitor Center.
WILL VISITORS WITH CHILDREN BE ABLE TO VISIT?
History is for everyone of all ages! Tudor Place has scavenger hunts of the garden and historic house for children.
CAN I BRING MY STROLLER?
Strollers are permitted on the grounds in the garden. Note that the garden surfaces consist of grassy areas and paths laid with pea gravel, flagstone, bricks and stones set in grass. Strollers are not permitted on historic house tours; strollers can be stored outside the Visitor Center entrance.
CAN GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE VISIT?
Tudor Place welcomes groups of 10 people or more, and requires prior arrangement for tour availability and a per person fee. Ticket price includes guided tour of historic house & self guided garden access. Visitors for a 3:00 p.m. tour should plan to view the gardens before the tour. DO YOU HAVE A CAFÉ?
There is no cafe on site. However, Tudor Place is nestled in the heart of Georgetown, a vibrant and bustling neighborhood. Many cafes, restaurants and shops are a short walking distance to Wisconsin Avenue, NW (two blocks west) or M Street, NW (six blocks south).
