Preservation at Tudor Place
From its earliest days as two separate buildings overlooking the Potomac River from Georgetown Heights, Tudor Place has seen spaces and objects used and reused for various purposes all while careful measures were taken to ensure the longevity of what stood here for centuries. This legacy of care serves as a shining example of how we, as stewards of this National Historic Landmark, can preserve the past while ensuring the sustainability of the future.
After 10 years of careful planning, Tudor Place developed a strategy to bring Tudor Place into a third century. The resulting Master Preservation Plan serves as a clear guide to the future. The plan addresses the significant stewardship challenges posed by threats to the physical integrity of the Historic House, Collection and 5 1/2 acre site.
The Third Century Capital Campaign was launched to achieve the goals of the Master Preservation Plan. Through this campaign and with the generous participation of donors, members, friends and visitors, the future of Tudor Place will be secure for generations to come.
