Leadership
Mark Hudson has been able to translate a lifelong love of American history into a rewarding career in museum and archive management. As executive director of Tudor Place, he spends his days promoting the stewardship of a National Historic Landmark and ensuring the public hears the stories of multiple generations of Martha Washington’s descendants. Prior to his tenure at Tudor Place, Mr. Hudson served as executive director of the Vermont Historical Society in Barre, Vermont; executive director of the Historical Society of Frederick County, Maryland; curator of the Boone County Historical Society in Columbia, Missouri; and worked in research libraries in Kansas and Missouri. A native of Kansas, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and communication studies and a Master of Arts in historical administration and museum studies, both from the University of Kansas, as well as a Master of Arts in library science from the University of Missouri. Mark and his wife Julie share their home with a spirited Jack Russell Terrier named Flynn.
